PEARSON BTEC LEVEL 4 HIGHER NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN BUSINESS

Entry requirements

• Applicants must be aged 18 or over.
• A BTEC Level 3 qualification in the relevant area of study. A GCE, Advanced Level profile, demonstrating strong performance in management and business associated subjects, for example, Business, Business Management, and adequate performance in more than one GCE subject, supported by GCSE grades at A* to C (or equivalent) and 9 to 4 (or equivalent) in subjects such as Maths and English and other related Level 3 qualifications.
• Access to Higher Education Diploma from an approved further education institution.
• Management associated work experience of at least two years: Manager, Senior Manager, Team Leader, business owner or those working for organisations where they are due for promotion to a senior position, or their promotion is dependent on their successful completion of the course.
• An international qualification equivalent to the above qualifications will be considered based on an appropriate translation of the certificates obtained and confirmation of their local equivalence by United Kingdom Education National Information Centre (UK ENIC).
• Learners should go through the initial and diagnostic assessment held by the College.

Progression

The Level 4 Higher National Certificate provides a solid grounding in business, which students can build on if they decide to continue their studies, example to HND Level 5 Business Programmes, equivalent courses in higher education or to enter employment.

Overview:

The Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Business lay the foundations of learning by providing a broad introduction to business and different business functions. This develops and strengthens core skills while preparing the student for specialist subjects at Level 5 or to enter employment with the qualities necessary for job roles that require some personal responsibility.
Students will gain a wide range of business knowledge tied to practical skills gained through research, independent study, directed study and workplace scenarios.
